ازدادت نسبة معدلات الجرائم العنصرية ضد المواطنين وخصوصا المسلمين في بريطانيا, بسبب الهجمات الارهابية التي حدثت في الاسابيع القليلة الماضية.

وتطالب جمعية رعاية العراقيين في بريطانيا السلطات الرسمية والشرطة البريطانية بتوفير الحماية الكاملة لأبناء الجالية وخصوصا النساء والصغار في مختلف الاماكن.

ونحث أبناء الجالية الكرام بأخذ الوقاية والحذر أثناء تنقلاتكم, والابتعاد عن الاماكن المعزولة وخصوصا أثناء الظلام , ويفضل التنقل بمجاميع صغيرة وخصوصا أثناء أستعمال وسائل النقل العامة والمترو.

كما نشجع أبناء الجالية باخبار الشرطة والسلطات المحلية في حالة تعرضهم الى اي نوع من أنواء الاعتداءات والاهانات العنصرية بأسرع وقت

نحن نطمح أن نعيش بسلام وامان من دون خوف, ونسأل الله أن يحفظ الجميع من كل سوء او أعتداء

Following the recent tragic and terrorist events in the UK, There are a significant rise in the number of hate crimes in various parts of the UK.

Unfortunately, many of these are targeting Muslims and members off the Iraqi Community.

IWA is alarmed with these developments and demand the Authorities to provide full and adequate support and protection to all Citizens of the UK, and specifically those from Ethnic Minorities, and we believe that no one should live in fear or abuse at any time.

We strongly encourage members of the Iraqi Community to report any hate Crime or abuse immediately to the Police via;

• Dial 999 if it is serious or dangerous
• Dial 101 if it is hate crime or any type of abuse
• Or visit the nearest Police station to report the incident.

Also, we advise not to travel alone especially during night times, and always take extra care when travelling on pubic transport.

Abdullah has been living in London for many years and now has dementia. As he drifts back into his past, Abdullah vividly recalls the Baghdad of his youth in the 1950s, while his daughter Leilah struggles to make an emotional connection with her father in the present.

This short film is both in Arabic and English and is 20 minutes long, there was a talk and discussion after we had watched the film about dementia and the issues were raised in the story.

There was an expert who answered questions about dementia, and they provided advice and information for all the questions .
